Health and Wellness

Coalition for a Healthy Community

Working with McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital, the Coalition for a Healthy Community-Oxford addresses issues surrounding substance use/abuse, mental health, and abuse. Priorities of the coalition are identified in the hospital’s needs assessment.

Lane Library Bookmobile

The Bookmobile stops in Milford Township on Wednesdays at two locations:

  • Wednesdays, 4:45 PM at Somerville Community Church at 207 Walnut St, Somerville, OH 45064.
  • Wednesdays at 5:45 pm in Darrtown at the corner of Hamilton-Richmond Road and Oxford Street.

Butler County Elderly Services Program

Butler County extends its Elderly Services Program (ESP) to qualifying older adults, aiming to foster a sense of safety and independence within their homes through comprehensive in-home care services.

Eligibility
To qualify for ESP, individuals must be:

  • ​A Butler County resident aged 65+
  • Require help with certain activities of daily living such as bathing, cooking, transportation, etc.
  • Be ineligible for services through another payer such as Medicaid, Medicare, insurance, or hospice 

*Eligibility for specific services is determined by the care manager during an in-home assessment*

TOPSS Pantry and Social Services

TOPSS offers a variety of social service resources, including a food pantry that allows people to choose food based on their individual dietary restrictions as well as their personal preferences.

Agriculture

Collinsville Grange

​Collinsville Grange #2264 is a farming association that sponsors local activities and fundraising. The organization has sold coupons for military troops overseas, raised money for hurricane relief, and has sponsored other related opportunities.

4-H Clubs

Milford Township is home to several 4-H clubs. As described on the organization's national website, "In 4‑H programs, kids and teens complete hands-on projects in areas like health, science, agriculture and civic engagement in a positive environment where they receive guidance from adult mentors and are encouraged to take on proactive leadership roles."

Milford Achievers 4-H Club

The 4H club meets twice a month in the Collinsville Community Center on Sunday afternoons.

Milford Mini Farmers 4-H Club

This club has been active in the township for 40 years. They assist with the annual Spaghetti Dinner held at the community center. The club meets in the community center until the end of the school year, and in family homes during the summer time.

They meet from January 1st - August 1st, every other week at 6:30 PM on either Monday or Tuesday nights.

Talawanda Barn Braves 4-H

The Talawanda Barn Braves 4-H led by Mike Green is a club that meets on the third Sunday of every month at 4:00 PM at the Milford Township Community Center. The club ranges from the Cloverbuds (who start at the age of 5) to 18 years old, which is when they'll age out of the club.

Veterans

Darrtown Memorial Association (DMA)

Every year the DMA hosts a program at the Darrtown Cemetery on the Sunday prior to Memorial Day, featuring 4-H clubs and the reading of veteran names who've been laid to rest in the cemetery. Flags are placed on veteran's graves the day before the memorial.

The DMA is always happy to welcome new members to the committee.
